Venchi: A Story That Began Over 145 Years Ago
146 years young: this is Venchi’s story—one of success, adaptation and expansion, moving far beyond its origins in Piedmont while never losing its soul.
It all began in a small flat in Turin, where 20-year-old Silvano Venchi laid the foundations of this now iconic Italian chocolatier. Experiment after experiment, he moved production from his home to a shop on Via degli Artisti, where he created his very first masterpiece: Nougatine—made with Piedmont hazelnuts, caramelised sugar and dark chocolate.
In a short time, Venchi became a supplier to the royal family, even featuring the royal coat of arms on its packaging. The assortment grew to include Gianduiotti, truffles and Cremini, as well as the unrivalled Suprema spread.
The Venchi Stores
Venchi’s success lies in its uncompromising quality and authentic tradition of Made in Italy craftsmanship, which has won hearts worldwide. From Silvano’s first little shop in Turin’s Vanchiglia district, the company has grown to own over 180 chocolate and gelato boutiques in more than 70 countries.
